Terms & Conditions

1. Service Description
Regritly is a fitness goal tracking application that allows users to set health and fitness goals with financial stakes. By committing financially to your goals, you gain real motivation to follow through. We integrate with Strava to track your fitness activities and help you achieve your objectives.
2. User Eligibility
To use Regritly, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a valid payment method on file
- Accept these terms and our Privacy Policy
- Have a Strava account for activity tracking
3. How Goals Work
When you create a goal on Regritly:
- No cancellations: Once committed, you cannot cancel a goal
- No refunds: All financial commitments are final once the goal is created
- Tracking: We use your Strava data to automatically track progress
- Double-or-nothing: If you narrowly miss your goal, you can make a double-or-nothing attempt — stake double the money, but you only need to hit the same original target again
- Goal completion: Goals must be completed within their specified timeframe
4. Payment Terms
You are only charged when you fail a goal. Here's how it works:
- Success: Complete your goal and you pay nothing
- Failure: If you don't complete your goal, your committed amount is charged to your saved payment method
- Double-or-nothing: If you narrowly miss a goal, you may be offered a double-or-nothing attempt. The stake doubles, but the target stays the same as the original goal. You only get one double-or-nothing attempt per goal — if you fail the double-or-nothing, the doubled amount is charged immediately
- Billing timing: For a standard goal, your card is charged after the goal deadline passes and you haven't met your target. For a double-or-nothing attempt, the charge happens when that attempt fails. If you decline a double-or-nothing offer, the original stake is charged at that point
- Refund policy: No refunds are issued for failed goals. This is the commitment you made
5. Strava Integration
Regritly uses Strava to track your fitness activities:
- What we access: We only read the distance and duration of your Strava activities — the minimum needed to check your goal progress. We do not access your GPS routes, location data, heart rate, or any other personal health metrics
- Maintained connection: You must keep your Strava account connected to Regritly for the duration of any active goals
- How sign-in works: We use a secure authentication process called OAuth 2.0. When you connect Strava, you're taken to Strava's own website to log in. Your Strava username and password are entered on Strava's site, not ours — we never see or store your Strava login credentials. Strava then gives Regritly a limited-access token that only allows us to read your activity data
- Your data stays yours: The activity data we receive from Strava is used solely within Regritly to track your goal progress. It is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for full details
- Disconnection: You can revoke Regritly's access at any time through your Strava account settings. If you do, we can no longer track your progress and active goals may be marked as failed
6. Limitation of Liability
Regritly is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for losses due to Strava outages or data sync delays
- We are not liable for injuries or other damages from physical activity
- We are not liable for payment processing failures by our payment processor
- Our liability is limited to the amount paid in the past 12 months
7. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Here's a summary — for the full details, please read our Privacy Policy:
- No data sales: We never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone. Your data is used only within Regritly to power your goals
- Minimal data: We store only what's needed — your name, email, goal information, and activity distance and duration from Strava. No GPS data, no location tracking, no health metrics beyond what your goals require
- Security: All connections are encrypted (HTTPS), your Strava credentials never touch our servers, and your card details are never stored — they're passed securely to Stripe for processing
- Third parties: We only work with Strava (for activity data) and Stripe (for payment processing). No advertisers, no analytics companies, no data brokers
- Data retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time
8. Termination
You can stop using Regritly anytime, but your commitments remain:
- Deleting your account does not cancel active goals
- You remain financially liable for goals you haven't completed
- We may retain your data as required by law or for dispute resolution
- Regritly may terminate your account for violation of these terms
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of Regritly after changes means you accept the new terms.
